Exercise: Shoulder Towel Stretch
Using this basic exercise, you can stretch your shoulder muscles to help maintain flexibility and performance.
- Firmly grasp a rolled-up towel with your right hand and drop the towel behind your back. Grasp lower end of towel with left hand behind your waist.
- Gently pull the towel toward the ceiling with your right hand. You'll feel a stretch in the shoulder of your left arm as your lower hand is gently pulled farther up your back.
- Hold the stretch for about 30 seconds.
- Switch hands and repeat on other side.
Always consult your doctor before starting a fitness program, especially if you have been inactive or have any health concerns. Remember to stop if you feel any pain. If in doubt, always consult your healthcare professional.
