Exercise: Shoulder Towel Stretch

Using this basic exercise, you can stretch your shoulder muscles to help maintain flexibility and performance.

  1. Firmly grasp a rolled-up towel with your right hand and drop the towel behind your back. Grasp lower end of towel with left hand behind your waist.
  2. Gently pull the towel toward the ceiling with your right hand. You'll feel a stretch in the shoulder of your left arm as your lower hand is gently pulled farther up your back.
  3. Hold the stretch for about 30 seconds.
  4. Switch hands and repeat on other side.

Always consult your doctor before starting a fitness program, especially if you have been inactive or have any health concerns. Remember to stop if you feel any pain. If in doubt, always consult your healthcare professional.
